Pacific Coast Terminals (PCT) is providing the public an update on the dredging project. The FRPD Columbia has been operating Monday to Saturday from 6am to 10pm since returning to work after the Christmas break. This notice is update the public in a change in the Columbia’s typical operational hours for this Sunday, January 27th when the FRPD Columbia will be working from 6am to 10pm. This maintains consistent with the our Project Permit from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Permit #15-136.
PCT is also advising that there is an upcoming change in the operations, where FRPD will be changing from using the Columbia (cutter suction dredge) over to using the 309 (hopper dredger). Please see image below showing the 309. This is expected to happen on Tuesday January 29th and it is anticipated that the 309 will be operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Dredging is scheduled to continue until February 28th, 2019.
Please note all works will be conducted in conformance with applicable regulatory requirements and permits from the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority, Permit #15-136, Environment Climate Change Canada, Transport Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
