MAINTENANCE WORK

August 10th – August 24th, 2020

Pacific Coast Terminals Co. Ltd. (PCT) wishes to advise our neighbours that we will performing a maintenance shutdown from August 10th – August 24th.

The terminal’s sulphur rail car unloading, stockpiling, and Berth 2 vessel loading operations will be shutdown. Berth 1 liquids will remain active, as well as potash unloading. There will be a number of projects being completed with the majority of work being concentrated on the Sulphur Dumper and Quadrant Ship Loader. The work will require the use of welders, hand tools, lifting equipment, and high pressure water washers. We understand the inconvenience to residents as this may result in having noise and light emitted from our terminal, and we apologize in advance.

The work will be performed during regular work hours and there will be no night shifts for this shutdown.

PCT will do everything possible to perform the work as quickly as we can. We wish to apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause our neighbours. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us by email at info@pct.ca, or by phone at 604-939-7371. After business hours please call 604-931-9211.

The Channel Dredging Project at PCT is entering a monitoring stage after having completed the dredging and berm maintenance activities in September this year. All the material that was dredged from the navigational channel and the turning basin has been placed behind the under water retention berm where it will remain. PCT has applied for and received a Disposal at Sea permit to conduct limited additional dredging activities should monitoring show that additional work is required.

We would like to thank the local residents and the users of the inlet as we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this project.

Pacific Coast Terminals (PCT) is providing the public an update of minor continued berm construction activities taking place near the terminal. After having completed the bulk of the berm construction and having let the berm settle for a month, we are topping up the berm to design elevations in localized areas. This work is expect to take two or three days to complete.
